Zap your calf pain? study tests electric needles for muscle tears

NCT ID NCT06713200

Summary

This study tested whether a treatment called percutaneous electrolysis helps adults recover from calf muscle tears. 75 participants with recent or lingering tears received either a strong electrical current, a weak current, or a fake treatment through a needle, along with standard physical therapy. Researchers measured changes in pain, fear of movement, ankle flexibility, and muscle fatigue to see which approach worked best.
