First seen Mar 16, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 15 times
Summary
This study tests whether adding electroacupuncture (a gentle electric needle therapy) to standard rehabilitation exercises can improve walking ability in older adults with sarcopenia (age-related muscle loss). About 120 people aged 60–95 will be randomly assigned to receive either electroacupuncture plus rehab or rehab alone for 12 weeks. The main focus is on how far they can walk in 6 minutes and how quickly they can get up and go.
