Zapping new hope: electrical stimulation study tests better way to move paralyzed legs

NCT ID NCT06421753

Summary

This study tested whether a new pattern of electrical stimulation is better than standard stimulation at helping leg muscles work in patients with conditions like stroke or spinal cord injury. Ten adults with upper motor neuron syndrome used a special exercise bike that delivers electrical pulses to their leg muscles. Researchers measured the power their muscles produced during cycling sessions to see which stimulation method worked better.
