Summary
This study tests whether a traditional Chinese syrup called compound ejiao syrup can help critically ill patients recover their ability to exercise and improve their quality of life after leaving the ICU. About 178 adults who were on a breathing machine for at least 2 days will take the syrup or a placebo three times daily for 90 days. The main goal is to see if they can walk farther in six minutes by day 90.
