First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 08, 2026 · Updated 26 times

Summary

This study tests whether a traditional Chinese medicine syrup called compound ejiao syrup can help critically ill patients regain strength and improve quality of life after leaving the ICU. About 178 adults who were on a breathing machine for at least 48 hours will take the syrup or a placebo three times daily for 90 days. The main goal is to see if they can walk farther in six minutes, with additional checks on physical function, nutrition, and inflammation.
