Can a simple chest strap replace invasive heart monitoring?

NCT ID NCT07385963

First seen Feb 04, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 11 times

Summary

This study will check if a non-invasive device called EIT Pulse Wave can accurately measure blood flow to the lungs and heart function in critically ill patients with shock or lung injury. Nineteen adults in the ICU who are on breathing machines and already have a standard heart catheter will be monitored with both methods for up to 48 hours. The goal is to see if the EIT device can replace the more invasive catheter, making monitoring safer and easier.
