First seen Feb 17, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 18 times

Summary

This study looks at whether a special imaging technique called Electrical Impedance Tomography (EIT) can help doctors perform lung recruitment maneuvers more safely in children with acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS). The goal is to improve how air is distributed in the lungs and reduce injury from the breathing machine. The study will enroll 8 children aged 1 month to 10 years who are on a ventilator for less than 48 hours.
