First seen Jan 29, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 21 times
Summary
This study explores whether electrical impedance tomography (EIT), a non-invasive imaging method, can monitor lung function as well as standard spirometry. Researchers will compare EIT readings with spirometry results in 400 adults, including those with lung diseases and healthy volunteers. The goal is to develop a machine learning model that predicts lung function from EIT signals, potentially helping patients who cannot perform spirometry, such as those with tracheostomies.
