Could a single infusion of 'Trainer' cells free kidney patients from a lifetime of pills?
NCT ID NCT06777719
First seen May 10, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 3 times
Summary
This early-phase study tests whether a patient's own immune cells, grown in a lab, can be safely infused to help the body accept a new kidney without strong anti-rejection drugs. Nine living-donor kidney recipients will receive increasing doses of these 'Eight Treg' cells. The main goal is to check for side effects, not yet to prove the treatment works.
