First seen Feb 12, 2026 · Last updated Jun 16, 2026 · Updated 13 times
Summary
This study analyzed tumor and blood samples from 160 people with esophageal or rectal cancer to find genetic markers that might predict how well they respond to chemoradiotherapy before surgery. The goal was to better understand why some patients benefit more than others. No new treatment was tested; instead, researchers looked for clues in the body's biology.
