First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Jun 18, 2026 · Updated 40 times

Summary

This early-phase study tests whether a green tea extract called EGCG can help prevent colon cancer from returning after surgery. About 51 adults with early-stage colon cancer who have not had other cancer treatments will take EGCG or a placebo before their surgery. Researchers will look at changes in DNA methylation, a marker linked to cancer risk.
