First seen Oct 31, 2025 · Last updated Jun 17, 2026 · Updated 35 times

Summary

This study looked at 36 adults with severe obesity who had laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy, a type of weight-loss surgery. Researchers measured blood levels of a hormone called Phoenixin-14, which is thought to influence appetite, before and after the procedure. The goal was to see if the surgery changes this hormone level, which could help explain how the operation affects hunger and metabolism.
