First seen Mar 08, 2026 · Last updated May 17, 2026 · Updated 10 times
Summary
This study will use EEG, a non-invasive brain wave test, to see how people with disorders of consciousness (like unresponsive wakefulness syndrome or minimally conscious state) process sounds. Researchers want to know if brain responses to simple and complex sounds can help tell the difference between these conditions and predict recovery after one year. The study will involve 42 adults with severe brain injury.
