Ear zaps and DNA clues: new stroke study seeks answers

NCT ID NCT06226493

First seen Apr 24, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 4 times

Summary

This study tests a non-invasive device that gently stimulates a nerve in the ear (taVNS) in people who had a stroke within the past month and have arm weakness. Researchers will measure brain activity with EEG and look at certain genes to see if taVNS helps recovery. The goal is to understand how this treatment works, not to cure the stroke.
