New hope for high-risk heart patients: less invasive valve replacement tested
NCT ID NCT04408430
First seen Jan 17, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 26 times
Summary
This study tests a less invasive way to replace the mitral valve in people with severe calcium buildup and valve problems who are too high-risk for open-heart surgery. About 210 participants will either get the new valve or continue with medical care alone. The goal is to see if the valve improves survival and reduces hospital stays for heart failure.
