First seen Apr 30, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 4 times

Summary

This study tests whether adding electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) to usual care can safely reduce severe agitation in people with moderate to severe dementia, including Alzheimer's and other types. About 50 participants will receive ECT plus their regular care. The goal is to see if ECT improves agitation and is well tolerated.
