New device aims to predict bleeding and clotting in ICU patients
NCT ID NCT04268940
Summary
This study tested a new bedside device to better monitor blood clotting in critically ill patients on ECMO, a machine that supports heart and lung function. Researchers observed 61 patients to see if this device could more accurately identify those at high risk for dangerous bleeding or blood clots. The goal was to gather information to help doctors manage blood thinners and blood product transfusions more safely in the future.
