First seen Oct 31, 2025 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 30 times

Summary

This study tests a device called the Eclipse XL1 that is placed inside the intestine to gently stretch and lengthen it over time. The goal is to help people with short bowel syndrome absorb more nutrients and reduce the need for IV nutrition. The study includes 40 adults and children aged 3 months to 65 years. Researchers will check for side effects and measure if the intestine actually grows longer.
