New biopsy method could prevent cancer spread during fibroid surgery
NCT ID NCT04250766
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 01, 2026 · Updated 25 times
Summary
This study looks at whether a special ultrasound-guided biopsy can accurately tell if a uterine tumor is cancerous before surgery. About 19 women with suspicious uterine tumors will have the biopsy, and the results will be checked against the final diagnosis after surgery. If the method works well, it could help doctors avoid dangerous procedures that might spread cancer cells.
