Summary

This study tested a new vaccine designed to prevent Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) infection, which causes mononucleosis and is linked to certain cancers and autoimmune diseases. Twenty-five healthy adults aged 18 to 25 who had never been infected with EBV received either the vaccine or a placebo. The goal was to see if the vaccine is safe and triggers a strong immune response.
