New EBV vaccine trial aims to prevent mono and related cancers

Summary

This study tests the safety of two experimental vaccines designed to prevent Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) infection, which causes mono and is linked to certain cancers and autoimmune diseases. Healthy adults aged 18 to 29, whether or not they have had EBV before, will receive three doses of one or both vaccines over about 5 months. Researchers will monitor for side effects and measure immune responses.
