First seen May 12, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 2 times
Summary
This pilot study tests whether a new rinsing device (Swiftsure SwishKit) plus standard mouth care can lower harmful bacteria in the mouths of ICU patients who are on breathing tubes. About 21 adults will be randomly assigned to either standard care alone or standard care plus the device. The goal is to see if the device helps reduce bacteria that can cause lung infections.
