First seen Jan 05, 2026 · Last updated Apr 30, 2026 · Updated 15 times
Summary
This study looked at whether a gentle therapy called basic body awareness therapy can help earthquake survivors improve their core muscle endurance, posture, balance, quality of life, and body awareness. Thirty adults aged 18-45 who lived through the February 2023 earthquakes in Turkey took part. Half received the therapy for 8 weeks, while the other half did not. The goal was to see if this approach could address physical issues often overlooked after such disasters.
