Gout treatment timing tested: start now or wait six weeks?
NCT ID NCT05109936
Summary
This study is testing whether starting a standard gout medication called febuxostat immediately after a gout flare works as well as waiting 6 weeks to start it, which is the current recommended practice. Researchers want to see if the immediate approach controls gout days and pain just as effectively without causing more early flare-ups. The trial will involve 128 adults who have recently experienced a gout attack.
