Summary
This study looks at whether the types of viruses found in the airways and gut of very preterm babies (born before 30 weeks) influence their risk of developing bronchopulmonary dysplasia (BPD), a serious chronic lung disease. Researchers will collect samples from 40 babies over the first three weeks of life and compare those who develop BPD to those who do not. The goal is to understand how early viral communities shape lung health, which could lead to better prediction and treatment in the future.
