Severe trauma and blood clotting: new study reveals hidden risks

NCT ID NCT07186712

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 32 times

Summary

This study looked at 263 severely injured trauma patients to find out how often they develop early blood clotting problems (called eTIC) and excessive clot breakdown (hyperfibrinolysis) within the first hour of arriving at the emergency room. Researchers used a special test called TEG to measure clotting. The goal was to identify patients at risk and understand how these issues relate to survival.
