NCT ID NCT07219901
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 31 times
Summary
This study tests whether teaching speech and language skills to infants with unrepaired cleft palate can improve their communication before palate repair surgery. About 200 infants aged 6-10 months will attend twice-weekly group sessions for six weeks with their families. Researchers will measure word learning, sound production, and babbling to see if early intervention leads to fewer speech problems when the children start school.
