Simple blood test could warn moms of diabetes risk months early
NCT ID NCT07433465
Summary
This study looked at whether measuring iron levels in the blood early in pregnancy could help predict which women might develop gestational diabetes later on. Researchers followed 556 pregnant women, checking their iron and other blood markers at the start of pregnancy and seeing who later developed diabetes. The goal was to find a simple way to identify high-risk women earlier so they could get closer monitoring and timely care.
