Simple blood test could warn of pregnancy diabetes months in advance

NCT ID NCT07433465

Summary

This study tested whether measuring iron levels in the blood early in pregnancy can predict which women will later develop gestational diabetes. Researchers followed 556 pregnant women, comparing iron markers between those who developed diabetes and those who didn't. The goal is to create a simple early warning system so high-risk women can get extra monitoring and care sooner.
