Can a simple text stop chronic pain after surgery?

Summary
This study aims to see if catching and treating pain early, at 3 months after surgery, can stop it from becoming a long-term problem by 6 months. It will enroll over 2,000 patients who had common surgeries like hernia repair or knee surgery. Researchers will use text messages to screen for pain and compare starting treatment at 3 months versus the usual 6 months.
