New pain block could help chest trauma patients breathe on their own sooner

Summary
This study tests whether giving a specific pain-relief injection (erector spinae plane block) early after a severe chest injury can reduce the number of days a patient needs a breathing machine. The trial will include 400 adults with three or more broken ribs from blunt chest trauma. The goal is to see if this simple, ultrasound-guided block helps patients recover faster and avoid complications from longer breathing support.
