Extra early shot could save thousands of young lives

NCT ID NCT01668745

Summary

This study tested if giving a measles vaccine at 4 months old, in addition to the standard dose at 9 months, helps more children survive to age 3. It involved over 4,500 healthy infants in rural Burkina Faso and Guinea-Bissau. Researchers compared survival rates between children who got the extra early vaccine and those who only got the standard later vaccine.
