First seen Jan 26, 2026 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 16 times
Summary
This study tested a new way to detect early lung changes in people with COPD or ILD by analyzing carbon dioxide (CO2) in their breath in real time. The goal was to find damage before standard lung function tests show any problems. Researchers compared results from 40 participants, including patients and healthy smokers and non-smokers.
