Could a Pre-Stroke procedure drug boost recovery?

NCT ID NCT07002476

First seen Jan 21, 2026 · Last updated May 18, 2026 · Updated 18 times

Summary

This study looks at whether giving a powerful cholesterol-lowering medicine (a PCSK9 inhibitor) before a procedure to remove a blood clot in the brain can improve recovery for people having a major stroke. About 652 adults who are scheduled for this emergency procedure will be randomly assigned to receive either the extra medicine or standard care. The main goal is to see if more people are able to live independently 90 days after their stroke.
