Simple scan could save stroke patients from deadly pneumonia
NCT ID NCT07321275
Summary
This study looked at whether early chest CT scans can help predict which stroke patients are most likely to develop pneumonia, a serious complication. Researchers analyzed data from 1,499 stroke patients who received chest scans within 24 hours of their stroke. They created a prediction model combining scan results with other patient information to identify high-risk patients who might benefit from preventive antibiotics.
