Groundbreaking hunt for hidden cancers in High-Risk families

NCT ID NCT04431024

Summary

This study aims to find better methods for early cancer detection in people who carry an inherited BAP1 gene mutation, which nearly guarantees they will develop cancer. Researchers will follow 800 participants age 30+ using advanced imaging scans, blood tests, and minor surgical procedures to try to catch cancers like mesothelioma at the earliest possible stage. The goal is to gather information that could lead to improved monitoring guidelines for this high-risk population.
