Could a simple balloon save mothers from severe bleeding?
NCT ID NCT02226731
Summary
This study tested whether using a special balloon device earlier in treatment helps control severe, life-threatening bleeding after a vaginal birth. It involved 405 women who were still bleeding after initial medication. Researchers compared starting the balloon treatment right away versus waiting to see if more medication worked first, to see which timing led to less severe blood loss.
