Needles in ears to numb thumb surgery pain?

Summary
This study is testing whether a form of ear acupuncture called auriculotherapy can help reduce pain after outpatient surgery for thumb arthritis. It will involve 60 patients who will randomly receive either real or fake ear acupuncture sessions. Researchers will measure pain levels, medication use, and anxiety for three days after surgery to see if the treatment helps.
