Camera-Assisted breast surgery aims for less scarring, better recovery
NCT ID NCT07579117
First seen May 13, 2026 · Last updated Jun 18, 2026 · Updated 7 times
Summary
This study tests a new, less invasive breast surgery called endoscopic video-assisted nipple-sparing mastectomy (E-NSM). It uses a small camera to remove breast tissue through tiny cuts, aiming to reduce pain and scarring while keeping the nipple. The study will include 10 women with early-stage breast cancer or high genetic risk who are already candidates for standard nipple-sparing mastectomy. The main goal is to see if the procedure can be completed without switching to open surgery and how well immediate breast reconstruction works.
