Summary

This study tested whether sending e-mails to doctors could encourage them to use a state-run prescription monitoring program and reduce unsafe opioid prescribing. Over 7,800 Minnesota physicians and physician assistants who were not using the program regularly took part. The goal was to see if simple e-mail reminders could lead to safer prescribing habits.
