Can vaping help break the smoking habit for those battling opioid addiction?
NCT ID NCT07202039
Summary
This study is testing whether providing flavored e-cigarettes helps people with opioid use disorder who are already on medication treatment (buprenorphine) to smoke fewer traditional cigarettes. Researchers will enroll 90 adult smokers who aren't currently trying to quit and give them different e-cigarette flavors to see which patterns lead to the greatest reduction in cigarette smoking over 6 months. The goal is harm reduction—helping people smoke less rather than requiring complete quitting.
