Can vaping help break a smoking habit for older adults in recovery?
NCT ID NCT06534905
Summary
This study is testing whether providing e-cigarettes helps adults aged 50 and older, who are in treatment for opioid addiction and currently smoke, to reduce their tobacco use. Participants are not planning to quit smoking at the start. The research compares two groups: one receives e-cigarettes and education, while the other gets standard advice to quit. The goal is to see if switching to e-cigarettes is a practical way to reduce harm from smoking for this group.
