NCT ID NCT04773470
First seen Jan 09, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 21 times
Summary
This study looked at how common and severe swallowing problems are in people with spinal muscular atrophy (SMA). Researchers used a special camera test (FEES) to examine swallowing in 79 participants. They also tracked changes over time, especially in those starting new SMA treatments like Risdiplam. The goal was to better understand and measure these swallowing issues, not to test a new treatment.
