New MRI scan could replace biopsy for uterine lesions
NCT ID NCT07402421
First seen Feb 21, 2026 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 16 times
Summary
This study will test whether a type of MRI called diffusion-weighted imaging can accurately tell the difference between non-cancerous and cancerous growths in the lining of the uterus. About 30 women with abnormal bleeding or suspicious ultrasound findings will receive the MRI, and the results will be compared to the standard tissue biopsy. If successful, this could provide a non-invasive way to diagnose endometrial lesions without the need for a surgical procedure.
