New MRI method may replace needle biopsy for uterine lesions

NCT ID NCT07402421

First seen Feb 21, 2026 · Last updated May 10, 2026 · Updated 14 times

Summary

This study will check if a type of MRI called diffusion-weighted imaging can accurately tell the difference between harmless and cancerous growths in the lining of the uterus. About 30 women with abnormal bleeding or suspicious ultrasound findings will get this MRI, and the results will be compared to the standard tissue biopsy. If successful, this could offer a non-invasive way to diagnose endometrial lesions without surgery.
