NCT ID NCT04786093
First seen May 08, 2026 · Last updated Jun 22, 2026 · Updated 8 times
Summary
This study tested a combination of the immunotherapy drug durvalumab and precise, high-dose radiation for people with advanced non-small cell lung cancer. The goal was to see if this approach could improve quality of life and control tumors. However, the trial was terminated early after enrolling only one participant, so we have very little information about how well it works.

What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
Durvalumab (a drug that helps the immune system fight cancer) and stereotactic radiotherapy (precise, high-dose radiation)
What this could lead to
If successful, this approach could improve quality of life and control tumor growth in people with advanced lung cancer.
What could go wrong
The trial was terminated early with only 1 participant, so results are very limited. It is unclear if the combination works better than standard treatments.
