New combo therapy shows promise for tough-to-treat lung cancers

Summary
This study tests whether giving the immunotherapy drug durvalumab along with standard chemotherapy before surgery or radiation can help people with stage IIB-IIIB non-small cell lung cancer. After initial treatment, participants either have surgery followed by more durvalumab, or radiation plus durvalumab. The goal is to see how many can have successful tumor removal and how well the treatment is tolerated. About 142 adults with previously untreated, operable lung cancer are taking part.
