First seen Oct 31, 2025 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 25 times

Summary

This study tests whether giving duloxetine, an antidepressant that also eases pain, before and after knee replacement surgery can lower the need for opioids. About 150 adults with knee osteoarthritis will take duloxetine or a placebo around their surgery. The goal is to improve pain control and satisfaction while reducing opioid-related risks.
