NCT ID NCT05110144

First seen Jan 21, 2026 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 13 times

Summary

This study is testing whether two medications, duloxetine and amitriptyline, can help reduce coughing in people with refractory chronic cough (a cough that lasts over a year and doesn't respond to usual treatments). About 50 adults will receive either the drug or a placebo, and their cough frequency will be measured over 8 weeks. The goal is to see if these drugs can ease this frustrating symptom.
