Think and lift: new exercise program targets shoulder pain with brain power

NCT ID NCT07415967

First seen Feb 19, 2026 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 17 times

Summary

This study tests whether adding simple mental tasks (like counting or word games) to standard shoulder exercises can reduce pain and improve function better than exercise alone. About 46 adults with chronic shoulder pain will do either dual-task or standard exercises twice a week for 6 weeks. Researchers will measure pain, shoulder function, and fear of movement at the start, after 6 weeks, and at 12 weeks.
